I'm sick again... really sick - have not felt this sick in nearly 2 years. Came on slowly yesterday afternoon, full blown sore throat last night, couldnt sleep, couldnt swallow, fever, aches, body feeling like lead... I hate being sick. I feel like i have not been healthy since way before Thanksgiving.
And to think - folks used to come here to get healthy.
Musings from the world of parenting three boys, being the mom of a Type 1 Diabetic, public education, and whatever else falls out of my head.

With age comes...
Biceps?? No - not mine. Matthew!!
I was watching him the other day. He'd borrowed a shirt from his brother that is one of those basketball ones with no sleeves, so his arms are exposed. I was more than a little shocked to see muscle definition in his arms! Delts and biceps!! THE KID'S JUST THIS SIDE OF FIVE YEARS OLD!! Where's the baby fat? What happened to those mushey cheeks that I would love to just kiss and kiss and kiss until he got rather disgusted and pulled away from me, laughing?? I'm not ready for him to look so BOY-ish! Soon, he, too will be loosing teeth just like his older brother and those precious, tiny pearls he has in his mouth will be replaced by big, awkward choppers, and he will look very big, and very old, just like Parker.
Its a good thing we have Christopher in our lives (for a multitude of reasons) because he can help me continue the delusion that I'm not really a grown up after all, I'm just a young mother, with years to go before I, myself, am "old". Yeah, the other two - they've blown that "young mother" image right out the window for me!
Thanks guys... :-)
Oh, and as an update on that littlest of Jensens... My little tank had his 6-month visit to the doc on Monday. He weighed 23.4 lbs (both his brothers were 20lbs and change at 6 mo) and 29" long (Matt was taller by 3/4", P was shorter by nearly 1 3/4") and is wearing 12 - 18 month clothing right now. His nickname has been "Little Bear", but I think I might start calling him Shaq!

Teeth!! We have teeth!
As soon as he sits still long enough for me to grab my camera, I will post pics, but on Christopher's 6-mo birthday (yes - he's 6 months already and no - I have no idea how that happened) he popped his first tooth. Parker's, by comparison, arrived with its neighbor when he was 9 months. Matthew, well, we are still investigating that matter (second child, you know)
And, for those of you for whom this kept you up nights, he is now "legal", as we had his Baptism this past Sunday. His godparents and grandparents were in attendance and he was not only extremely well behaved, he even flirted with the crowd!!

Crisis Averted
My computer is coming to the end of his life, I just know it. I've had this feeling for a while now. It began with the strange clicking noise that sounded like something caught in the spokes of a bicycle tire. Then the computer began acting up.
Today - it died. But, like Farm Boy in The Princess Bride, it was not ALL dead, just mostly-dead. I am very proud of my powers of ressurection! I got the air-mattress blower, and blew the heck out of the inside of my CPU. It was gross. More than gross - downright disgusting! I cannot believe the ick that accumulated inside my poor computer. No wonder it went into mostly-dead mode.. I would too if I had that much crap inside me (no comment from the peanut gallery regarding food intake!)
Warren & Greta have flown the coop. They found an apartment not too, too far away, and moved out Friday. The Steiners arrived on Saturday and the boys have not stopped yet, except to fall dead-fast asleep in bed. Chris is on the verge of cutting two teeth (very exciting, though he is the most adorable toothless wonder!!!)
That's it... life continues in its frenetic pace moving forward...

They do grow like weeds
A few years ago, when we had first moved here, I took a picture of Parker near our neighbor's plastic yard decoration and called the shot "Arizona Snowman" and it received rave reviews from the photography site to which I had posted it. That got me thinking about what a great marker this snowman would be, and I've tried to get shots of Parker by this snowman each year. I lost the ones from 2003, but here are years 2002, 2004 and 2005. Its a case of the ever-shrinking snowman!
